Read my 2012 Re-election Statement
As the elected Chairman of London Conservative Future I lead the team that help to deliver social and networking events, campaigning, social action and training for the under-30 membership of the Conservative Party. I have lived in London for nearly all my life and care passionately about this city. In the 2010 General Election I stood for Council in Islington and held various positions including London Conservative Future North-East Area Chairman. My experiences in running and building branches, as well as the North-East Area, has helped me to shape the London CF Region into a cohesive organisation with higher participation and better communication.
London CF has proved itself to be a great sucess winning the National Excellence Award for Membership 2010/2011 from the Prime Minister and campaigning with distinction during No to AV. The Region Team are not a sideshow. In fact they are just as crucial to our experience as CFers than the National Executive. Locally, control of how CF is run in your Area is being given back to you, the members. This means elected and accountable Area Chairmen, who have manageable responsibilities. The number and size of Areas have been increased from three to five to improve localism.
Appointments have been made on pure merit and all those willing to contribute and with talents to offer are welcomed.
A London Universities Conservative Council (LUCC) has been established where all University Chairmen have representation. This provides a suitable outlet for the concerns of one of the Capital’s largest groups of CFers and enable them better to coordinate social and campaign events.
London-wide and Area social events are encouraged so that the entirety of London is truly active and that all members have events to attend. A range of training programs are being developed so that we not only entertain but nurture.
Communication networks have been invested in, this website being evidence of this, so that no CFer is out of the loop of what’s going on or doesn’t know where to look when trying to get involved or when eager to contribute. From now on, no one gets left behind.
By the time the team have finished we will be seen as a national example. We will not only campaign but train and stimulate; not only retain but build our membership across all of London.
We will play a vital role in getting the Mayor re-elected and be seen and respected as a fighting force by the Party. Not only that, we will go on to help AMs, MEPs and MPs get re-elected again, and again and again.
