LUCC Enters its Second Year Under New Chairman
After a preliminary meeting held in Parliament on Monday 31st October the London Universities Conservative Council (LUCC) met to elect its new chairman on the following Friday at UCL.
The Council was established in 2010 by London CF Regional Chairman Nicolas Clark to unite Conservative university student groups across London. All Chairmen (or equivalent) of a Conservative higher education body within London, recognised by their host institution, are invited to be a member of the LUCC. The council aims to help co-ordinate, share and represent the activites of Conservative students across the Capital to Conservative Future as well as the rest of the country.
LUCC's first chairman, William Hall (previously the UCL Conservatives' Chairman), has stepped down after serving his term and has been replaced by Jon Boulton who was elected on Friday. Jon has previously been the president of Queen Mary Conservative Society whilst an undergraduate and he now takes on LUCC as he studies for his Masters there and whilst interning for an MP in Parliament.
Students old and new, as well as recently graduated past participants in LUCC, took part in the meeting and were unanimous in their support for Jon. We look forward to a fruitful year for the organisation and to its Back Boris campaigning efforts.
