London CF Young Professionals with Iain Dale at the Caledonian Club
It was our pleasure to welcome Iain Dale to the Caledonian Club for another of our London CF Young Professionals networking events held on Thursday 1st September.. The evening became informally dubbed a 'Bloggers Bash' as we were also joined by Jonathan Isaby, Political Director of The TaxPayers' Alliance (previously at Conservative Home), Shane Greer, Executive Editor of Total Politics, Chief Executive of Biteback Media, and President of Political World Communications and Harry Cole, (formerly aka Tory Bear), News Editor of Order-Order.com.
Iain Dale addressed our assembled members on the art of sucessful blogging, the pitfalls that should be avoided and the future of news media as well as a few of his legendary personal anecdotes. The theme of questions taken from the floor demonstrated how journalism has been forever altered by technology, however, Iain Dale warned "TV was meant to herald the end of radio and home video the end of cinema but radio and cinemas as popular as ever so don't dismiss newspapers!" To make the most of the last of this year's summer weather many of our guests opted for the Caledonian Club's terrace where much good humour was shared until late into the evening.
