London CF Runs to the Beat
On Sunday 25th September London CF Chairman, Nicolas Clark, and South-East London Area Chairman, Tom Williams, took part in the Run to the Beat London half-marathon for charity. Run to the Beat takes place in the Docklands and Greenwich and is sponsored by Nike featuring DJs along the route such as Calvin Harris and Annie Mac.
Nic ran his first ever half-marathon with his Territorial Army Section for London's Air Ambulance (Nic's blog) and Tom ran for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research despite recovering from a recent injury. In the end the scores were: Nic 1 hour 41 minutes and 25 seconds (1,075th out of 10,754 runners); and Tom 2 hours 1 minute and 46 seconds (4,808th).
You can still donate to either of the two charities they supported, or even both, below:
London’s Air Ambulance which is a charity that astonishingly runs London’s only helicopter emergency medical service, providing life saving care to victims of serious injury throughout London – serving the 10 million people who live, work and commute within the M25. JustGiving here
Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is the only UK charity solely dedicated to research into blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Our life-saving research is focused on finding causes, improving diagnosis and treatments, and running groundbreaking clinical trials for all blood cancer patients. JustGiving here
London CF is looking to get more involved in charity work in the future so if you have any ideas then let us know! contact
