With 12 weeks to go until the Mayoral Election London CF held action days in the South-East, South-West and North Central Areas.
It is with great pleasure that I announce the new additions to the London Conservative Future team of 2012. The Regional Management Executive (RME) are of vital importance as they help to organise, co-ordinate and support much of our what we do across the Capital. Furthermore, the support that the RME gives to the Areas assists them in ensuring a high-quality service at the local, area and regional levels.
In bone-chilling weather, 15 CF activists from the far-reaches of the Capital and beyond descended on Chingford for a highly successful day campaigning for Boris, our Mayor of London.
After a successful morning session, where we delivered newsletters to over half a ward, we stopped for a much-needed re-fuelling. Courtesy of London CF, every activist who turned up to the event was rewarded with free food and drink. After a hearty lunch, we were back on the streets of Chingford and continued on to finish the ward.
Local Councillor Alan Siggers and GLA Candidate for North East London, Naomi Newstead, were with us for the full day and thanks go to them for ferrying car-less activists around the Endlebury Ward.
Yesterday evening Mark Field, MP for the Cities of London and Westminster, was the main speaker at the latest London CF phone canvassing session for Boris Johnson. We were also joined by Chris Hampsheir, one of the party's GLA candidates.
For the second week in a row, interest was very high, with over 30 activists making hundreds of calls. With opinion polls narrowing as the election gets closer, these sessions are a vital part of stopping Ken Livingstone.
Saturday 21st January saw South-East London CF campaigning in Bexley with James Cleverly AM and local councillors.
For the morning session in Bexleyheath, BackBoris surveys were delivered and around 300 houses canvassed. An excellent lunch was then had in local pub The Jolly Fenman. In the afternoon, BackBoris leaflets were delivered in Blackfen, with a significant part of the ward being completed by the end of the day.
In our first big campaigning push of 2012 London CF's activists were out on the streets of North-East and North-West London for Boris.
It is with great pleasure that I enter my second term as Chairman of Conservative Future in London and look forward to the pivotal and exciting year that 2012 will be.
Last year I assembled a team to help me build an organisation that prioritised the experience a Conservative Party member under the age of 30 can expect at branch, area and regional levels in the Capital. Whilst achieving this it was also important to show the Party that our activists do form a vital, reliable and efficient campaigning force.
A few of the visiting Conservative Future activists who came down for the National CF Christmas Party joined myself and Area Chairman for North-East London, Harriet Holmes, for campaigning in the Westminster North constituency.
Despite recovering from a night of revelry and facing long journeys home University of Manchester Vice-Chairman, Jamie Williams, as well as Yorkshire activists Melissa Macdonald and Maria Rebecca Murphy headed out in to the London morning air to claim their McDonald's breakfasts and BackBoris2012 leaflets.
Last weekend saw Conservative Future activists campaign in North-East and South-East London for the Back Boris 2012 campaign
On Monday Chris Kelly, the MP for Dudley South, was the main speaker at the latest London CF phone canvassing session for Boris Johnson. We were also joined by Chris Hampsheir, one of the party's GLA candidates.
This session was another with a fantastic attendance, topping 30. For much of the evening, volunteers were arriving as fast as new phones were being found for them. A special thanks to Kings College London's Conservatives, who came to help out in very large numbers.
