Hello all,
London CF are launching a Policy Forum this year to contribute to debate and policy-making within the party and to give young Conservatives in and around London a say on the policies that affect us. Our first event (with support from the LSE Conservatives) will be on Wednesday 29th February 2012, from 7:30pm-9:30pm, at Room CLM.6.02, 6th Floor, Clement House, London School of Economics and Political Science, 99 Aldwych, WC2B 4JF. The area under discussion will be Local Transport - an area of policy which is crucial to the capital and which has been described by the London Evening Standard newspaper as the issue that could decide the Mayoral Elections in May.
We will be joined by Steve Norris, a former Conservative MP; Minister for Transport in London under John Major (where he was responsible for the Jubilee Line Extension); and Conservative candidate for Mayor of London in 2000 and 2004. Steve currently serves on the Board of Transport for London and has held positions such as Chairman of the National Cycling Strategy Board, Director General of the Road Haulage Association and President of the Motor Cycle Industry Association.
We will be holding an informal, relaxed discussion with our speaker giving a short introductory speech on the area before moving to a general discussion which anyone can participate in. This is a great opportunity to find out more about an important policy area and give your views on it, and the feedback and conclusions from this meeting will be submitted to the Conservative Policy Forum. You are also very welcome to join us at a local pub afterwards!
For further details on the discussion brief please see http://www.conservativepolicyforum.com/policy/local-transport
We hope to see as many people there as possible.

Best wishes,
Andrew
